Vista sounds with increased Bit-Rate and louder sound. Better quality! Extract to the media folder in %windir%\Media. Enjoy! . These have been edited with Sony Sound Forge and to give them extra quality and to make them more smooth.
i'm not sure what you mean by manually configure. when i extracted the files i played them back in vlc to compare them to other vista sounds i have.
i've since downladed your files again (i thought maybe something got corrupted) but still in that media part2 folder theres nothing but 0kb files there. media part3 looks to have the same stuff as media part 1. maybe something got messed up when winrar split them up?
also, i still cant find the proper vista startup sound. in your first folder you do have one labled "Windows Startup" which might have been it.. except its not. its just a *blip* sound..
I would be glad to help you if you plcae these questions in my forum for XP problems. For this refer to my journal entry. Also for Vista themes you can download the uxtheme.dll patch from Newoin.net and reboot to apply Vistas mssstyles.
Are you talking about the scream player? If that is the case then I plan to skin it like that with help from Jelmer, its not been skinned as yet. Its the smallest player on the web just 4KB.... and can play Quick Time too.
For the missing sound that hasnt been installed you can configure your audio properties from the control panel and select the Start Windows sound. Click browse and then you would be able to find Windows Startup amongst the extracted sounds. Double click the sound and save the scheme. Your done.
